Computer Science and Software EngineeringJob Description:
A local Australian company located in Hallam, Victoria is looking to expand its network operations in the Global video and security over IP market. We are going to develop a new software platform to better integrate our services and make them applicable to a broader marketplace. This is where you come in.
We are looking for an outstanding software engineer/programmer. In summary this job will entail getting to know the ins and outs of our business in Hallam for 6 to 24 months and then heading off to China to lead the development of the new platform with a team of developers before either returning to Austrailan full time, or working between our Australian and Chinese offices.
Selection Criteria:
Mandatory Requirements
* A passion for software development
* An understanding of application project management
* Obviously the ability to read and write Mandarin is critical to this endeavour.
* An ability to lead and motivate highly technical people
* A willingness to re-locate for 24 to 36 moths to Shenzhen China to lead a software development team
* Police clearance (required prior to final acceptance)
Essential Technical Knowledge – you will be tested on these!
* Programming skill in a current language. Please do not list VB – it does not count. Examples include C, C++/C#, Java and Lua. Knowledge of a scripted language like PHP, Python and Perl is also desirable.
* Excellent knowledge of TCP/IP and networking
* Excellent knowledge of Windows and MS Office suite
Favourable Technical Knowledge
* SQL knowledge
* Linux knowledge
