A business with a single internet connection may go offline from time to time, the internet itself never goes down. After all it was built to be a highly redundant military communications methodology.
VideoControlRoom makes use of this affordable and abundant communications technology by driving connectivity through a dual redundant router that uses primary path DSL/2+ with fail over 3G (HSDPA) (as used in Enterprise and Enterprise Hybrid Packages)
The Camera trap is an evolutionary device that combines a highly stable motion detector and a high res CCTV camera.
Everyone has been into a building and seen an alarm detector and camera mounted 5M apart in the same room. One generates text based intruder alarms and the other creates video recording – they don’t work together. We have simply merged these technologies so when the alarm goes of, we can replay the event remotely.
By merging these two technologies we have made no compromise on quality. Our Enterprise camera traps incorporate 540TVL – 0.01 lux day night cameras, and dual technology, Microwave + PIR motion detector meaning you enjoy super high quality video for remote management purposes by day, whilst VideoControlRoom benefits from the night modes superb low lux level for late night verification of alarm events..All in one camera trap

Video Alarm System
Another innovative ‘convergence’ success by VideoControlRoom was the creation of the Video Alarm System. We took the best IP Capable multi-site alarm/access control platform and tightly IP integrated it with a quality H.264 DVR.
You get all the features and benefits of these two platforms plus the benefit of video verified alarm monitoring and a host of remote IP services.
Intelligent Video Systems
Intelligent Video Systems or Video Analytics is a technology that is used to analyze video for specific data, behavior, objects or attitude. It has a wide range of applications including traffic analysis and security.
The software algorithms run on processors inside a computer or on an embedded computer platform in video cameras, recording devices, or specialized video processing units. Video analytics algorithms together are integrated with video and called Intelligent Video Software systems that run on standard off-the-shelf computers or embedded into small chips called digital signal processors (DSPs) that run in IP cameras or encoders. The technology can evaluate the contents of video to determine specified information about the content of that video.
Examples of video analytics applications include: counting the number of pedestrians entering a door or geographic region, determining the location, speed and direction of travel, identifying suspicious movement of people or assets.
Commercial applications of this technology are increasingly widespread in the General Security, Government, Retail, Transport and Financial Services Sectors.
You think of a business risk, and VideoControlRoom can now monitor for exceptions 24x7 - providing you detailed reports, real time alerts or remote audio intervention intelligent video servers are ready to retrofit to your existing video monitored system
Intelligent Video alerting on a car illegally stopping
Counting Mall retail trafficOther Intelligent Video Applications
- Counting vehicle traffic
- Counting foot traffic
- Alerting on cars driving the wrong way
- Alerting on removal of protected stock
- Number plate recognition – vehicle tracking
- Staff duress (i.e. plant operator falling over)
- Loitering detection (productivity control, graffiti monitoring)
- Cars filling up with Petrol (when it should be a truck)
- Tailgating
- Objects left unattended
- Cars parked in loading bay too long
- Speeding in parking lot
A core requirement for Video Alarm monitoring is the ability to see in the dark. By incorporating 0.01 Lux low light cameras into our enterprise camera trap range, your site requires only modest lighting for our visual verification service. Besides the obvious environmental benefits, solar lighting is cheaper to install and free to run.
H.264 Video compression
VideoControlRoom incorporates the latest video compression technology across its Video Alarm System (DVR/NVR) systems. H.264 is a standard for video compression, and is equivalent to MPEG-4 Part 10, or MPEG-4 AVC (for Advanced Video Coding) – H.264 is able to deliver higher quality video at lower bitrates than MPEG-2, MPEG-4, H.263, AVI, SMICT and JPG2000.
More on H.264: The intent of the H.264/AVC project was to create a standard capable of providing good video quality at substantially lower bit rates than previous standards (e.g. half or less the bit rate of MPEG-2, H.263, or MPEG-4 Part 2), without increasing the complexity of design so much that it would be impractical or excessively expensive to implement. An additional goal was to provide enough flexibility to allow the standard to be applied to a wide variety of applications on a wide variety of networks and systems, including low and high bit rates, low and high resolution video, broadcast, DVD storage, RTP/IP packet networks, and ITU-T multimedia telephony systems.
